When American Dad debuted a few years ago on FOX, I thought it was just okay. The only thing the show had going for it was Roger, the sarcastic, back-talking, cross-dressing and bi-sexual fugitive alien that the family is harbouring. Of course, three seasons in, he still remains the prime draw; however, the series has, in my opinion, taken off thanks to smart writing and delivery.
For those who haven't seen the show or just don't know much about it, here is the premise: Stan is a CIA Operative and a stout Republican who gets carried away making sure that his extreme points of view are followed by the family, friends and neighbours. Keeping him in check are his ditzy wife Francine, his liberal and rebellious daughter Hayley and their dorky son Steve. Of course, the aforementioned Roger is there to wreck even more havoc.
