Ximena Sariñana is a twenty year-old actress and singer-songwriter from Mexico. Both of her parents are in the film industry down there, so it’s in her blood. She may have dipped her feet in the music industry back at the ripe young age of eight (singing the theme song to the telenovela Luz Clarita), but she took the plunge later joining the band Feliz No Cumpleaños.While her band was known for their funk-jazz style, her solo venture is more rock-pop. There are still elements of folk, funk and jazz, though. It’s a strong collection that any fan of Julieta Venegas or Bebe should enjoy. Here debut album Mediocre was released a few weeks ago.
