Best known to those outside of Houston for the film The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas, Marvin Zindler was also known to Houstonians for his reporting on ABC affiliate KTRK-TV. Signed to a lifetime contract with the station, I grew up with him reporting which restaurants got poor reviews from the health inspector and which ones had "SLIIIIIME IN THE ICE MACHINE!!!" (which was his trademark shout-out, that they later turned into a little jingle - lol)Sadly, Marvin was diagnosed early this month with pancreatic cancer. While he vowed to continue working even from the hospital, he succumbed to his illness yesterday, July 29, 2007. He will be missed.
